Well howdy y'all! I am officially on vacation. I am working only one job (the one I simply adore), becasue the other one ended, as has my Arabic class. Woot. I guess the exam went ok. I should know what I got tomorrow sometime. *crosses fingers* Not that it matters at all though. No GPA impact, no nothing. Eh. I'd still like to have done well. The toher day i went over to a friend's and watched "The Replacements." It is problematic that I got so into the games in that movie. I mean...when I yell at the TV during a Skins game, at least it is kind of "live"...when I yell at a FAKE game that was filmed 3 years ago, I think that's crossing a line. *sigh* I'm psychotic, what else is new? Bought a laptop. While I detest laptops, portability will make life easier. I'll also be able to hook it up to a normal keyboard and monitor when i'm in my room. I cannot wait to go back to school! Like OMG, woah! ;-) Only a week at miami, a weekend w/ my bros, and a few days of work/packing stand in my way. :-D Today I'm going to go take a ballet class and then a stretch class. Hoorah. Love to all! -A

I should be at work. Instead, im sitting in a tshirt and my underwear in front of my computer. how exciting.
Sooooo...whats new with me? Not a whole heck of a lot. In the last 78 hours, I have:
Watched the editor's cut of "Almost Famous" Fallen in love with "Stillwater," the fictional band from said movie who's 6 song CD I own anyway. Read and slept and read and slept: Harry Potter...o, why do you torment me so? (On A related note: I am IN love with Sirius, and I misssssss himmmmmmm!...like whoah.) Discovered that the shady man who "fixed" our roof leak was lying about where the water was coming in. Re-Discovered my adoration fo Simon & Garfunkel. Went to the MYB staff party. Took 2 ballet classes and then twitched on the floor with the soreness. Procrastinated on all manner of things.
That is all.

10", Willow, Veela You scored 42 wisdom, 27 bravery, 26 emotional, and 16 martyrdom! |
| A willow wand signifies that you care deeply about emotions, art, and intuition, and that you have a particular knack for charms. The veela hair as a wand core means that you are slightly unpredictable but very powerful. |

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 59% on wisdom |

You scored higher than 28% on bravery |

You scored higher than 65% on emotional |

You scored higher than 18% on martyrdom |
| Beautiful day today. I just wasn't feeling Arabic today, so I skipped class *ooops* and grabbed my buddy Mia. We wandered and then got lunch...aaaaand she gave me a copy of the Stillwater CD. GOTTA love the fictional band. Damn, I wish there was more... Then took a nap cuz my boss mysteriously dissapeared so I couldnt go to work. Then took a ballet class (took barre en pointe!...trust me, this is a big thing.) And now...Im off to be a dork and buy my Harry Potter (which i have had on reserve since Feb). *mwah*

Well, because i know it'll make my little happy, I'mma update. I can't believe I actually just put punctuation in the word "imma." Haha. Not been up to all that much. Work, work, and classes of various varieties (arabic, yoga, and ballet). yoga's over now tho cuz my gold's gym membership expired. my mom had given it to me for my bday, but im too cheap to buy another month. anyway, this will mean I have no excuse, and have to start really taking advantage of the free classes from myb (yea for job perks). Arabic is goin pretty well. I would say im not particularly adept at the subject. tho i suppose that if i weren't a god awful student and actually studied now and then i would be doing better. *sigh* ;-) I went to the folk life festival last weekend. they were spotlighting oman (the 1st arabic country they're ever spotlighted) and I got to introduce myself to someone and say 'thank you' and 'hello' and such. i was quite pleased with myself, as he seemed to understand. also, the random conversation that i heard around me, I recongnized bits of. and i recognized the letters too, though i could only read (and when i say read, i mean sound out, not understand) a few words because there's a whole section of the alphabet that I'm just not comfoprtable with yet...hehe. and yes. that is the story of my life. i don't go out very much. i think ive been spending more time than i realize online. but eh. i dont feel a huge need to go out. i see the people i want to see (some of my macon kids excluded from this....id like to see them more), but other than that, im happy to just hang by myself/with the fam. yesterday i was running errands and dropped by my old job at music and arts center. most of the behind the counter staff has changed over. even my old manager is at a different store (he got married and moved), but it was nice to wander around the store. i also got to see a couple of the teachers that i really liked when i was working there. so hoorah. so yes...update complete. ;-) i really should go to work, but my boss is out of town, and the other chick who would be in charge of me (i get random odd jobs since im not currently working on a project that i could be productive w/ since the vsbn conference ended) doesnt get in til late. ah, the wonders of working at a small non profit... maybe i should call and see if she needs me. *love*

God, is it painful to go to dance concerts. I just can't make myself stop thinking 'that could be me.' I think dance is the closest i come to being completely free of insecurity. You know, I have friends who are following their dreams and taking chances, and i can't even decide what my dream is. I hate this feeling.

O wow, it's beena million years since i've updated. Haha. Let us see...Arabic is going well. It's gonna kick my butt because the attempt is at no-english (which would be more successful if certain elements in the class would stop questioning the man that is our teacher and just accept that they're not going to undertsand everythign all the time....honestly, this guy has been teaching for YEARS and we have been taking for what, 3 days? whatever...hehe). Working the desk at MYB is crazy for about 15 minutes of the evening in which i try to check in 50 people who all walked in the door for class right at the last minute. However, it is enjoyable and I really like being back in the studio. Free classes don't hurt either... Work w/ VSBN (envrionmental group) is kind of haphazzard. Monday I worked til 10pm cuz it was our final push to get ready for this conference. Then yesterday, I went in and found no boss and no access to the office. So there was an unexpected morning off. Though apparently, she had just stepped out. Who knew? Eh. By my calculation, before tax, i have made about $840 in the 3 weeks I have been working. And considering i have yet to hit anything close to a 40 hr work week, i find this acceptable. 'Work work work' I hear y'all saying. 'What about your social life?' To this I can only point and laugh at you for having such a complete misunderstanding of my life. Haha. No, actually, I have been hanging w/ my mom and sleeping quite a bit, and occassionally bothering people from home. But to be honest I don't feel all that big an urge to hang w/ anyone here (w/ a few exceptions...my late night walks w/ kendra, for example). I miss my RMC people like whoah. But, Susan did come down to visit me the other day and we di the 'dc thing.' Which consisted of wandering to a million memorials and museums and then WALKING to the Kennedy Center (rather long trip, dolls) for a free tango music conert preceeded by an attempted tango dance lesson. As both susan and i are female and were make a very bad girl. I can't follow in dance. And there's this established whole problem w/ me not doing the makeup thing, etc. etc. But! As a side note...guess who just bought 2 skirts and has worn one for 4 of the past 5 days? that's right. yours truly. I needed to look nice for work at myb, so i invested in some skirts and have been wearing them quite a bit. and i grudgingly conceed that it's not that bad. hehe. saw batman begins the other night. good movie. Anyway, yes. and that is my life as i know it. Troy, I love you muchly and I miss our Chinese Wednesdays in a major way. I was going through my random quotes file the other day and came across that Dan and Casey quote that i made us pause for like 10 min so I could write it down. Hehe. *hugs*
"Well we're men, we're petrified. That's what we do. We found that giving in to our fears makes us stronger, and not just a little pathetic...So if you're sad, or if you're scared, or if you're mad, it's entirely possible that we can do something to make you feel better. That's the other thing we do." -Dan & Casey "Sports Night"
Anyways, now on to the real task at hand. I do hope you have all enjoyed this very loooong and im sure quite boring account of the last month-ish.
I was tagged by Troy to "List your six current favorite songs, then tag 6 friends to do the same" Like Troy, I stress "current."
1."Alchohol" - Bare Naked Ladies (chalk it up laregly to my missing RMC...*sigh* *:-D) 2."Million Dollars" - Bare Naked Ladies (just a friggin awesome song...my momma even likes it.) 3."Shackled" - Vertical Horizon (I have alays loves this song. w/ the exception of the nest 2, I am really going old school in this post. ive been listening to stuff from hs and even before that a lot recently.) 4."Open Car" - Porcupine Tree (My bud fro home suggested the song and i have fallen in love w/ it) 5."Breathe" - Greenwheel (good friggin song) 6."Breakfast at Tiffany's" - Deep Blue Something (really, it's the song currently playing on rhapsody. good song, good people assocaited w/ said song.)
My tags will be insufficient in number, as most of the people i know who read this lj have already posted. But Lori, I have whalloped you!

On an unrelated note: Good luck and congrats to all of my lovely seniors. I love you mucho!
Also: I start work next week, thank goodness. It's been nice to see people from here again, even if I have realized how few people I have even the smallest motivation to see. Those that I have seen I've been able to pick up w/ completely like we never left, so that's reasurring.
Leave me love or call the cell. As always, I'm attention hungry. *:-) *mwah*

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me." 2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions. 3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions. 4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post. 5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
1) What is your favorite Australian city, not including Sydney? I don't know of any cities in Australia besides Sydney. So I found a map and pointed. Perth. Pretty damned nifty if I do say so myself. Sound kinda like pern, which any scifi dork should be able to explain to you. 2) If you could live in any time period with four living partners from any time period, where/when would you live and who would live with you? 1960s America (doin to roving thang from east coast to west coast!). W/ my Mia, Kendra, John (all from HS)...and Josh Hartnett. Haha. 3) What is your favorite ABBA song? Honestly don't know. 4) How many hookers do you plan to choke to death in your lifetime? Exactly 6. I am well on my way. 5) Congratulations. You’ve been put in charge of the world. You can remake one physical aspect of nature. What would it be? This whole gravity thing...I question it. Maybe I'd make it possible to communicate thoughts. That'd be it. Telepathy all the way baby!
Having a pretty damned good day. My classes are never amazing, but I had yummy Homemades by Suzanne at the SHA exec meeting. CHOCOLATE CAKE! Now I'm about to go study before terrorism. Baby letters this evening before work. woohoo.

Had an amazing time at APO formal last night. I went picture crazy, thanks to Jackie lending me her extra camera (so sweet). So this means I have pics of people from RMC! Very exciting. Evereyone looked simply gorgeous. Had fun dancing and harrassing poor innocent bystanders. Dinner at Lauren's was fantastic as well. Yummmmmm. After the dance, I just went home and crashed. Sooooo tired! Hehe. To my lovely APO dears: You guys are amazing. I am comlpetely sincere when I couldn't get by without you. *mwah* I'm workin the early shift today cuz Susan needed to switch shifts. Then homework til I go help w/ the RMC Battle of the Bands. Chapter, then clean up, then bed. Precious sleep... Since I haven't upsdated in a while: Classes are going pretty well. I WILL get an A in the majority of these classes. I am determined to. The one thing i'm most worried about is terrorism, and eric has been an angel in helping me out w/ the research for the presentation in there. *hugs* Anyways, I hope you all had as wonderful time as I did last night. Much love. -A

Hello darlings! Wow, it has been forever since I posted no? Have an aweosme rest of the term. I had an awesome break in sunny ol' Florida and getting to hang w/ peeps from HS. Went to breakfast this morning and then sat at the library and read for a bit before bothering people from HS. No old seniors are in town anymore. but this does excuse my lazy ass sitting around for a week. I had something fun to say. i don't remember what it was.

So it's snowing again. I'm enjoying my break. Too bad the whole world is sick. Still, it has been fun to see people from home. Anyway, I've taken a lot of dance/yoga/pilates-esque classes, and I am sore, but hopefully I'll be able to stay on a health jag. I REALLY like being able to do absolutely nothing. Life must continue from vacation, however, and I am prepared to return to the grind. Plus! I miss my rmc babes. I can't access the rmc website or my email for some odd reason. this is going to drive me crazy. O well...I just have to wait till Sun. A friend accessed my account forme, though. C+ on my final and my last paper, so i should have gotten a C in crim. I've still got my fingers crossed for a A in African American Studies. I MUST pull my grades up. *buckles down to work* *fails* On an unrelated note: I want to have Orlando Bloom's children. He is pretty. Particularly as a pirate. Also: I love this song. Edit: You are a Folkie. Good for you. What kind of Sixties Person are you? brought to you by Quizilla

Lovely evening at exile with the bros last night. In a few min, imma head back over for breakfast. I have run into a problem, however...Nicole has my toothbrush! Haha. O well. I will be very glad when the term is over. I've loved my classes and such, but I'm wiped. Go a 95 on AAS test though. C- for the crim presentation, but I'd figured that. Anyway...life, as usual, is rather boring, so there's not much to tell. Have a great day, loves.
